I got pulled over for speeding and was given a ticket for not having an insurance on my car? what should I do? I live in Illinois. Do I need an sr-22?

The law in Illinois requires all vehicles registered and operated in Illinois be covered by car insurance liability, that covers property damage and/or personal injuries you may cause to others in case of an accident. The minimum liability amount in the state of Illinois are the following:
• $20,000 for injury or death of one person per accident.
• $40,000 for injury or death of more than one person per accident.
• $15,000 for damage to property of another person.
You must always carry your insurance card in your car and show it if requested by any police officer. Here are the penalties that you may face if you get caught driving without insurance in Illinois:
• Minimum $500 fine for operating an uninsured vehicle.
• Minimum $1,000 fine for driving a vehicle while the registration is suspended for no insurance.
First-time offenders’ vehicle registration is suspended until a payment for $100 reinstatement fee is made and until proof of insurance is provided . Repeat offenders on the other hand must serve a suspension for four months, needs to pay a $100 reinstatement fee and provide proof of insurance as well. You are not allowed to operate your vehicle if your license is suspended.
Those who receives a mandatory insurance offense from the court or who is got caught driving without insurance has to file evidence of financial responsibility certificate or sr22 for a year.
